The graphs below give a clear view of the behavior of our top models on a 50 m stretch, compared to the old fashioned RG 213/U. Note that the M&P-ULTRAFLEX 7 despite being just 7.3 mm (compared with 10.3 mm of RG213/U), outclasses this old item in every parameter. Graphs can be used to calculate the power loss in any way and for any Messi & Paoloni cable. Let’s take an example: Model M&P-AIRBORNE 5 Attenuation at 430 MHz 19 dB/100m. If the cable stretch is 25m long, calculate 19 dB divided by 4 = 4.75 dB. Let us watch on the left side of the table (dB/50m) and positioning with a ruler at the 4.75 dB position, we can observe the other end in the right column (PERCENT RESIDUAL WATT) the percentage residual output of the cable.

Grafico di comparazione - rapporto attenuazione-potenza

Our AIRBORNE 5 is a incredibly lightweight coaxial cable, weighting 1,4 Kg/100m less than a classic RG58. For this reason it is particularly appreciated in DX-pedition.

Both have a diameter of 5 mm, but the difference in terms of attenuation, as you can see on the tab above, is abysmal.

Having a PE sheath and being waterproof, AIRBORNE 5 is also useful for direct burial and the most extreme conditions.

HYPERFLEX 5 is slightly larger than the other two cables (5.4mm of diameter) and certainly represents a significant new entry in Ham Radio World, much more flexible than AIRBORNE 5 and with better performance.

RG 58  → https://messi.it/en/catalogue/50-ohm-cables/rg-58-cu-100m.htm

Observing the characteristics described in the table, you can see how our ULTRAFLEX 7  is superior to classic RG213 in every single value. All this despite it has a overall diameter of only 7,3mm compared to the RG's 10,3mm.

Critically acclaimed for the incredible flexibility that distinguishes it, ULTRAFLEX 7  has been choosen as the official coaxial cable of the upcoming World RadioSport Team Championship 2018 in Germany and will be used by all the radioamateurs during the competition.

If it's true that Ultraflex 7 is better than RG213 despite a smaller diameter,  just imagine the difference with ULTRAFLEX 10 and HYPERFLEX 10 which have the same overall diameter of 10,3mm. The duel in attenuation leaves no room for comparison.

For what concerns the differences between ULTRAFLEX 10 and HYPERFLEX 10, they can be synthesized in:

1) the number of wires in the central conductor (7 of the first vs 19 of the second one, for this reason HYPERFLEX 10 results even more flexible);

2) HYPERFLEX 10 braid material is made up of copper clad aluminium which makes it lighter;

3) HYPERFLEX 10 always shows significant improvements at high frequencies.

RG 213  → https://messi.it/en/catalogue/50-ohm-cables/rg213-u-100m.htm

From two 10.3mm more flexible cables (thanks to their stranded core), we pass to two others with a solid core that can deliver incredibly high performance levels. Here, the difference with the classic RG213 becomes even deeper in terms of attenuation.

BROAD PRO 50 Competition is a coax entirely made of pure copper, while AIRBORNE 10, made of copper clad aluminium, is 45,3% lighter than an average 10,3mm cable.

AIRBORNE 10 has the possibility of being buried without any problems thanks to its PE sheath; in addition to being a must for all the protagonists of the DX-pedition because of the already mentioned ultra-lightness.

RG 213  → https://messi.it/en/catalogue/50-ohm-cables/rg213-u-100m.htm

These two 12.7mm coaxial cables are surely the most powerful of the range, which can be compared without any problems even to 15mm coax of the competition.

The flexibility they can show off is unbelievable looking at their big size and they are a must for the most ambitious amateur radio installations.

The substantial difference between the two lies in the central conductor wires: from the 19 of the ULTRAFLEX 13 we have designed an even more advanced cable that can boast up to 37 wires, namely HYPERFLEX 13.

While ULTRAFLEX 13 is better at low frequencies, HYPERFLEX 13 is more powerful at high ones.
